Newbury, NH-Walter L.Connell, 81, of Fowler Mill Road, died Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen, NH where he had resided for the past year and a half.

He was born in Newport, NH on August 16, 1930 the son of Walter and Josephine (Morris) Connell. He spent his early years in Newport moving to Newbury in 1960. Mr. Connell worked for Joy Manufacturing in Claremont and then spent many years at Kearsarge Reel. He worked for Polyclad Laminates in Franklin for about five years retiring in 1995.

He enjoyed baseball and fishing.

Members of his family surviving include his daughter, Joanne Elmasry of Andover, NH; three sons, Walter E. of Leominster, MA, Ronald L. of Pittsfield, NH and Dan J. of Kingston, NY; nine grandchildren, Cody, Jeremy, Lily, Liam, Eddie, Deborah, Asiah, Adam and Shiref; two great grandchildren, Clarissa and Christopher; four sisters, Hazel Brown of Newport, NH, Jean Tenney of Goshen, NH, Helen Howard of Virginia Beach, VA and Dorothy Burliegh of North Carolina; nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Newport, NH.
