Robert D. Saturley

Newbury, NH-Robert D. Saturley, 64, of Bay Point Landing Road, died Friday, June 10, 2011 in Newbury in a bicycle accident doing what he loved.

He was born in Peterborough, NH on December 19, 1946 the son of Lester and Margaret (Hannaford) Saturley. Robert spent his early years in Pembroke, NH and graduated from Pembroke Academy in 1964. He received a Bachelor's degree from UNH in 1970 and also graduated from Tuck School at Dartmouth with an MBA in 1973 where he was a Tuck Scholar. He received a Master's of Science in Financial Planning, from Bentley College in 2006.

Robert and Joyce moved permanently to Lake Sunapee in 2006 after owning a home on Lake Sunapee for 30 years. He served in the National Guard. Family was so important to Robert whether it was just relaxing together, enjoying a sport with each other or visiting. He loved Lake Sunapee, biking, skiing and participating in mini triathalons. He really enjoyed food of all kinds especially bread and chocolate and had fun giving dinner gatherings with family and friends.

Members of his surviving family include his wife of 42 years, Joyce (Ladurantaye) Saturley of Newbury, NH; a son and his wife, Matthew C. Saturley and Alana Renfro of San Diego, CA; a daughter and her partner, Elizabeth A. Saturley and Randolph Borbon of New York City, NY; two grandchildren, Evan and Isabelle; two brothers, Richard and his wife, Jane Saturley of Wilder, VT and Russell Saturley of Dublin, NH; nieces and nephews, Chris and Kim, Vanessa and Mendhie, Lisa, Jill and Sheldon, David and Lisa, and Melissa and Rob; grandnieces and grandnephews.

Friends may call at the Chadwick Funeral Home, 235 Main Street, New London, NH on Sunday, June 12, from 6 - 7:30 PM and on Monday, June 13, 2011 from 9-10 A.M. A funeral service will be held that same day at 11:00 A.M. at The First Baptist Church of New London, NH with The Rev. Alan Shumway, Transitional Pastor, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Sclerosis, 1361 Elm Street Suite 106, Manchester, NH 03101.
